Some P90X legs & back mixed with kettlebell

I'm not sure if I am eating enough.  That workout really took a lot out of me, but I am seeing results, especially my glutes and biceps.

I really wish I could hire my old personal trainer, Micah.  He would have me in spectacular shape in no time.

Kettlebell Swings

Did 60 reps of a 25 lb kettlebell swing yesterday and have done 50 so far today.  Need to double up my workouts with more P90X, tonight I will either do one or go to the gym for a Resistance Training class.  Sickness has had a hold at our house, but today I feel a good 75% so I'm ready to ratchet it up.  Last week the working out was at a minimum in my opinion.
Need to push harder.

The sore sets in

I would like to rename this blog....  :)

I am doing so many different kinds of workouts now that it should not just be a focus on P90X.  P90X is going to be my core focus, but I have found that I personally need to change things up a bit to not experience burn out.

In the last 4 days I have completed 2 P90X workouts, have done a legs workout at the gym and have completed a 60 rep 25lb kettlebell workout at home.  Today I plan to do another upper body P90X.  In fact, I will start that right after I complete this blog.

I love P90X...but I also love the energy at the gym, Zumba and so many other things.  Since my goals for this year prior to the wedding are pretty lofty and I am uber motivated, I want to provide a lot of muscle confusion.

In just the week that I have begun working out again, I am incredibly sore, my hunger has leveled off to eating when/as needed not boredom munching.  I am exhausted (body tired) in the morning but wired late into the night.   I don't feel I am needing as much sleep either, so it seems to level out.  Getting out of bed first thing in the morning has been a struggle.

This is exciting, and enjoyable.  I wish I had a gym partner that I could workout with during the day....maybe along the way that will somehow work out.

Here is to another healthy day with proper food choices, lots of water, positive spirits and attainable goals!

Kenpo...ouch

This evening I completed my first Kenpo in months.  Kenpo is fun.  It's 'boxing' and rather easy to master the movements.  Once you get them, you feel suddenly like you are Rocky, punching away with all kinds of power.  It's a fun workout and with my hand ipod cranked, I had all kinds of fun.  I finished off this workout with 45 Kettelbell swings.  NOW I'm sore.  I can imagine how the sore will set in tomorrow.  But it's a good sore.

I resigned up at the Y today.  For the next year the 4 of us have a membership.  I got the class schedule for 2 different locations and am excited to use a variety of workouts.  I think I am going to do double workouts nearly every day until Spring.

I should sleep well this evening.

The sunshine today was beautiful, warm...spring is  coming.  Madison had a good afternoon with me and we finished off our Y trip with a cup of coffee for me and a bowl of oatmeal for her.

Mmmm.....

Completed A Workout Last Night

Well.  I did it.

Whew.  It was rough.  My chest felt heavy from the cold that has stuck around for 2 weeks, and my head was pounding.  My muscles felt weak, my arms a little like jello, screaming as the little 10 pound weights did rep after rep...I had worked my way up to lifting 20 pounds or more....sigh.....FLASH!  An idea.

I darted off to the bedroom and grabbed my ipod.  Music has always pushed me through things, and I thought...drown out Tony just a bit, and crank up some tunes and WA LA!  Pumped again.  With the music playing a tune that made me want to dance, I pushed on through.  Day one, DONE.  And I tell you, I felt the endorphin release after the workout ended.  I felt a clarity, a lifted fog, a sharpness.

I felt hungry, but not for junk.  I felt happy, excited that I was simply on my way again...I felt motivated, like the image I had in my mind was attainable.  It was ALL good.

...alas....I worked out from 6:30 to 7:30 and was up until 2 am.  Now, this was after having a 2 hour nap yesterday as well when my daughter went to sleep as I have been feeling terrible.  Maybe that was part of it.  I mess up my sleep schedule when I work out late.  Yet, no matter what, working out is a must in my life.  I need it, I enjoy it, and I know what it does for my body, mind and spirit.

Today is Plyo.  This is a tail kicker, and a really really good workout.

I'm pumped!
